Michael R. Smith, Jr. received his PhD in Philosophy,Aesthetics, and Art Theory from 911������ in 2013, where he continues to serve as an Independent Study and Dissertation Director. He is also a faculty member of the Humanities Department at Western Governors University, and teaches Art History at Northern State University. He has written and presented widely on topics related to modernism and the history of abstraction, and his forthcoming book from Bloomsbury Press in 2021, entitled Wittgenstein and the Problem of Metaphysics, will focus on the intersection of aesthetics,ethics, and metaphysics in the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein.
